TeleHealth Doctor Services

Medsana Medical Centre has a fully integrated TeleHealth services that allows the patient to book a TeleHealth consultation with a fully qualified Australian registered doctors for a range of services including a standard health check, medical certificate, specialist referral, sexual health, prescribe medication (ie. repeat scripts) and more.

Once a patient books an appointment either via phone call or online form the General Practitioner will notify the patient 5 min before he/she is ready, minimising any lengthy delays and ensure suitable medical care is achieved.

The standard consultation is conducted intuitively via the AMS mobile app and payment is processed automatically at the end of the consultation.  We will let you know as soon as it is evident that a physical consultation is required.

These TeleHealth video consultations will not be recorded but written notes will be made during and after the consultation.

Examples of suitable consultations:

  • Subsequent consultation for the oral contraceptive pill after trial packs have been used up.
  • Medical certificates.
  • Follow up after initial consultation and physical examination to discuss progress of the condition.  Our doctors will let you know whether this is suitable.
  • Repeat scripts and referrals via telehealth video call to make sure it is still clinically appropriate.

What Is TeleHealth?

Telehealth consultations, also known as telemedicine, is healthcare services provided via digital telecommunication technologies, allowing for long-distance consultation with an online doctor (Australian registered doctor) where physical intervention is not required with the patient. This is also useful for those in rural and remote areas or physically unable to visit their local GP.

It’s important to note that because this is remote medicine not all medical services are able to provided by general practitioners through TeleHealth, especially if an in-person check is required to resolve a particular health concern. If this is the case, the doctor may advise alternative solutions.

While phone consultations is the most common used, TeleHealth can also include talking with a patient via Skype, FaceTime or video consultation other online video tools.

It’s important that patients provide their correct details, valid medical card and also be ready to receive contact from their health professional at the appointed time.

At Home Doctor Visitations

Medsana Medical Clinic can provide at home doctor visits or to aged care providers where it’s physically and logistically possible to do so.
